Stand Up Ministries Doctrinal Statement

bible doctrinal statement sumchurch stand up ministries

Stand up ministries is a non-denominational ministry preaching the gospel and equipping the saints for the work of ministry.

We believe the bible to be the infallible and inerrant word of god; that it is his holy and inspired word, and that it is of supreme and final authority.

We believe in one god, eternally existing in three persons: the father, the son, and the holy spirit, equal in power and glory.

We believe Jesus Christ was conceived by the holy spirit, was born of a virgin, that he led a sinless life, took upon himself all our sins, died on the cross bearing those sins, was buried in a tomb, and on the third day arose from the dead.

We believe that Jesus ascended to heaven to be seated at the right hand of the father as a mediator and advocate to all that believe on his name.

We believe that through Adam’s sin all men everywhere have inherited a sinful nature and therefore are sinners who are lost and face the judgment of God, and need to be saved from God’s wrath that abides upon sin.

We believe that because of sin, all men are sinners deserving of death.  That salvation of sinful man is only by the grace of god through personal faith in the lord Jesus Christ alone, accomplished through regeneration by the holy spirit.  That Jesus shed his blood on the cross for the forgiveness of sins, and if a sinner repents, confesses, and asks forgiveness for those sins to Jesus Christ, he will be saved and have fellowship restored with God and receive eternal life.

We believe in the resurrection of the body, the judgment of the world by Jesus Christ, the eternal blessedness of the saved believer, and the eternal punishment of the lost.

We believe that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead to one day come back to the earth to set up his kingdom on earth as we usher in eternity with all the promises of God.

We believe that saving faith in Christ Jesus unites us as members of the body of Christ. Although there are differing views after salvation, it is not our intent to promote activity in worship that is disruptive or takes for God’s glory.

What is a doctrinal statement, anyway?  A set of ideas or beliefs that are taught or believed to be true.
